No, they aren't, at least not at any greater rate than any other woman who develops secondary infertility. You know what does cause infertility? Non-sterile abortions by unlicensed, non-skilled providers. You know, like pre Roe v Wade.

And to answer your question: it saves the child (and parents) a lifetime of being unwanted/unloved. Plenty of messed up people already in the world.
