Nobody is talking about American culture taking a "backseat" to anything.  We are talking about a few street names.  Comparing that to slavery or Jim Crow makes you sound like a lunatic.

I don't really care what happens to the name of this particular highway.  Change it or don't.  But just drop the schtick that "progressives" are in any way tolerant or willing to try to get along with people that are not like them.
