The thing is, the pettiness is much more enjoyable to read if you're aware that you're being petty. So "I hate the trail of crumbs my FIL leaves when he makes his stupid midafternoon sandwich" -- we all know it only takes a minute or two to wipe up the crumbs, no matter who wipes them. He's an old guy, he's a guest, he raised the man you love OMG WHY THE MESS EVERY FREAKING AFTERNOON!

That's much different from "My MIL likes to sit curled up in a ball on the sofa. WHO DOES THAT?" or "My ILs like coffee in the morning WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM?"[/quote]

We know we're being petty! It's just a funny thread to "rant" on. I would never lose my temper or say anything about these minor annoyances to my guests. But yeah...it's annoying when people leave crumbs all over your house! It's not a big deal, but it is ALSO not a big deal to vent a lil' on an anonymous internet thread.[/quote]
