True. Their HS teams lost players between Fall and Summer to other clubs, and there were kids who left mid-Summer for other clubs. Most of their 2016 team starters left for Blackwolf and several of their 2017 starters left for other clubs. Not news that kids leave Madlax all the time to many other places. They have over 2,000 local kids in their program.
A lot of outdated and incorrect info above. First of all, the original post was about the Baltimore Crabs, and it looks like you are focusing mostly on VLC. You clearly are a "Madlax for Life" homer, but here's the truth for those reading this thread. Blackwolf was run by the former assistant HC for St. Stephen's. TWO YEARS AGO, he raided VLC and Madlax for several players. VLC was hit the hardest because they had a ton of St. Stephen's kids who felt compelled to play for their future coach. You imply this just happened, but it happened over 2 years ago. VLC 2016 was weak initially, but now has a better team than Madlax 2016 (though BW 2016 is the best in this area still). For VLC 2017, they did not lost "several starters". That is a complete lie. One starter did leave, but that's it. VLC 2017 is by far the best 2017 team in this area. Madlax has a strong grip on the youth market here, but their HS teams are falling apart. Many guys have left for Blackwolf, Crabs and VLC. Part of the reason why is because those clubs are much more success at tournaments and getting kids committed. Part of the reason is that people get tired of Madlax and paying unnecessary $1000 annual fees. http://deadspin.com/hey-ungrateful-quitter-emails-from-an-angry-lacrosse-660703941
