I'm sure they were. I think the complaint posted on here ( other than 1st page) has been manually typed on here for the sake of inflicting publicity. I suspect Newmyer really wants a pre-trial settlement. Otherwise, why try so hard with the PR firm, jus wait for your date in court. As a lawyer ... hiring a PR firm for your complaint does not indicate that you want a settlement, necessarily. It means you want to publicize the charges. Full trial is the ultimate means of achieving that goal, and as long as you have a case that gets past a minimum standard .... you can go to trial. I predict full public nasty trial in this case. Or a huge settlement.
The idea that Newmyer has a PR firm posting on DCUM is pure paranoia.
I know for sure that people were hired to post here about a lawsuit involving Landon. The accusation about a PR firm may be wrong, but it is not paranoia.
Not paranoia at all. Newmyer admitted in discovery that he hired a public relations firm to spread the word and increase embarrassment. See page 3 of this court filing. http://dcslapplaw.com/files/2013/01/Huntington_mtd_appeal.pdf
Sanity Test: which of these doesn't belong in the group: Washington Post; NY Times, ABC, CBS, DC Urban Moms web forum; ABC, CBS and MSNBC
On May 12, 2011, I received an email from the same PR firm mentioned in the above link saying, "I want to tell you about the sidwell friends $10M lawsuit that was filed this a.m. [sexual misconduct.] I think mothers would be very interested to know!" Here was my reply, "What is the purpose of the lawsuit? Won't this additional publicity further harm the child? Why does the father need a PR specialist? Is his primary goal simply to embarrass the school and his (former?) wife?" Much to my shock and surprise, I did not receive a response.
