Many have been asking that question. Someone either on this post or another post said they are required to be present at the graduations, but no one has answered whether they are required to give a speech. If they are not required to speak, don't have them speak when there is already a keynote speaker, plus the principal of the HS, plus student government leaders. Just imagine how long and tiresome it is for the graduates and guests when you have that many speakers plus have to listen to 500-800 names being called. Trim down the program! [/quote]

A BofEd member is required to be there to confer diplomas prior to graduates’ names being read and them crossing the stage. It’s truly maddening that it turns into another speech when it really doesn’t have to be. [/quote]
