I'm on the PTA board at Viers Mill and we have asked for feedback from our community in multiple channels since the boundary studies began. The overwhelming majority of responses prefer Woodward. A smaller bit prefer to remain Wheaton/DCC. And I don't think we've gotten a single response choosing WJ as the preference (so, PPs who said they were VM families and want WJ, come to the PTA meetings and make your voices heard! We're missing you.)
Wait are you trying to misrepresent feedback about previous options as feedback about the current recommendation and proposed change to it? Wtaf is wrong with you? Do you work for CO?
?? I am a parent on the PTA board. I don't work for central office and I'm not misrepresenting any information. We have been soliciting feedback for some time and yes, that includes after the "final" recommendation came out. What is interesting to me is the sudden concern for "what's best for the kids" when nobody outside of our community has given a you-know-what about our kids until now. NOW it's about balance and property values and making sure WJ is comfortable and appropriately diverse, with no regard to the community VM has built. Again. If the VM posters here who prefer WJ, you have had many options to share your thoughts and so far, the take you're presenting here has been a blip of a minority of responses collected. I'm saying this not as somebody who makes any choices but someone who has been a part of the process and seen the data. There's no hidden notices or misrepresentation. The sudden concern feels frankly very paternalistic, assuming our students are better off being absorbed into a different community.
