Doubt it. Bet $ it is rigor. Yes I have years of inside data at mine and a few VA privates; we all share anonymous data. 
Most DMV privates end up with about 15% of the total class gaining acceptance to UVA, some more some less. 
When the rare kid at our private got in to UNC and deferred UVA EA, they were not considered to have taken the top rigor at the high school: others had similar GPA with better rigor and got in . UNC does not know the private as well as UVA does, as far as rigor, and tends to focus more on GPA and SAT. The school usually gets 3-5 kids into UNC OOS and typically all get in to uva. When one does not, it is rigor, especially if the SAT is very high. Slightly low rigor with a very high SAT when others at the school with lower SAT have the same or better GPA with MORE rigor are going to get into UVA instead. Every time.

Out of curiosity, are there other schools that stand out as being sensitive to rigor in that way?
