“Screeching politics” means highlighting things that make a certain kind of politics look bad.

But I’m also thinking about the insane politics that contribute to this situation and I am 100% sure that she and her friends are also thinking about that right now as they are worried for themselves and their friends.  I don’t see how one can think about one thing and not the other, but I appreciate that might not be how you process trauma and I wish you and your daughter the best. [/quote]

Maybe if this were the first school shooting ever. But unless you’re as dumb as a rock or have been living under one, you are going to think about how and why these god damned school shootings happen all the time in the good ol US of A, and why parents keep voting for Republican politicians who choose guns over life every single time.[/quote]
