This person is probably a troll, but if they aren’t this a textbook example of why Dems can’t win elections. Most normal people think it is absurd to feel guilty for eating meat and people who tell them otherwise will be ignored. People are not willing to change their diet to save the environment and they don’t lose sleep over eating animals.
----------- A "normal" person isn't worried about many things that are, in fact, serious concerns. The country no longer worries much about the federal deficit, for example, but this is a real problem that will eventually have serious consequences in the absence of deep adjustments. Climate change is also serious problem, and the production of meat is a significant contributor to CO2, both in an absolute sense and relative to the equivalent CO2 that would be produced if we shifted from a meat-heavy to a veggie/fruit heavy diet. This recent report (see Figure 5 via the URL below) estimates that land areas in the northern hemisphere are warming at a rate of 0.8F per decade, which translates into 8F per 100 years. Warming of this magnitude will have serious consequences on the lives of our grandchildren. While it is true that most of us don't worry about this issue, our lack of concern doesn't make it less real or less consequential. An additional concern is that cognitive performance is expected drop if/when CO2 levels breach 1000 ppm.
