VOTE FOR JAY JONES
Lol lol no one is voting for jay.
Me - I voted for Jay Jones - because I am an independent moderate who is tired of MAGA destruction of our norms and rights.
What rights and norms of yours have been destroyed by MAGA?
You should just ask Google AI this question. I did and here's what it said: Peaceful transfer of power: Attempts to overturn the 2020 election results, culminating in the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, are cited as a direct assault on the norm of accepting election outcomes and ensuring a peaceful transition. Respect for democratic institutions: Actions such as pressuring the Justice Department for personal or political ends, attacking judges, and attempts to dismantle the non-partisan civil service system are seen as undermining the independence of government branches and watchdogs. Media criticism: A norm of press freedom has been challenged by the targeting and intimidation of media outlets and individual journalists who are critical of the administration. Use of presidential power: Critics point to a push for an expansive "unitary executive authority," a controversial constitutional theory that suggests the president has full control over all federal agencies, potentially allowing them to bypass checks and balances and ignore court rulings. Alleged Destruction of Rights Critics point to specific policy areas and actions they argue have threatened or curtailed fundamental rights: Voting Rights: Efforts at the state and federal levels to enact new election laws are perceived by critics as attempts to make voting more difficult for certain populations, disproportionately impacting racial minorities. Civil and Human Rights: Critics argue the MAGA agenda has involved the implementation of policies that target and disenfranchise non-white immigrants, challenge LGBTQ+ rights, and roll back gains for women and minorities, including efforts to restrict abortion access. Free Speech: Despite vows to champion the First Amendment, the administration has been accused of cracking down on dissent and targeting critics. Rule of Law: Some legal experts argue that a pattern of systematic unconstitutional and illegal acts, coupled with judicial rulings perceived as granting overly broad immunity, has created a constitutional crisis and poses an "existential threat" to the rule of law. International human rights: The administration has been accused of abandoning a commitment to international human rights standards, using human rights reports as a political tool against adversaries rather than a neutral assessment.
This is all “has been accused” or “critics argue” or “perceived by critics” or “some legal experts.” Lots of hedging and no real definitive language here that speaks to actual rights being infringed definitively. Would love to see the actual prompt you used. Regardless - I’m sure you have specific examples you can provide though? If you’re saying your rights and norms are being destroyed I’d like to understand what specific rights are being infringed so we can take action and defend them.
