If they are in Model 1 (cohorted class) there is supposed to be I believe 1 or 2 extra CKLA units and some extra projects.  If they are in Model 2 (mixed class) there are no extra units, there's supposed to be some enrichment for qualifying kids but I don't know how that's supposed to work.  Also both groups are supposed to get some extra enrichment activities during FIT time.[/quote]

It’s supposed to be model 1, which I was very happy about. But apparently so far the teacher read them a picture book and not much else and honestly didn’t seem to be planning on doing anything accelerated whatsoever. I know it’s early days but it’s just so disappointing, they read so many great books and did wonderful projects last year.[/quote]

I know it’s too early, I am sorry. It was just sad to hear my kid come home dejected because they had to listen to a book they would have read in preschool in their “advanced” class. They are just really frustrated - ELC was by far the highlight of their 4th grade year and all signals so far indicate that this year will be…not that.[/quote]
