I’m sure OP has to pay many thousands in licensing, professional membership, conference and CME fees that are not deductible. [/quote] Say you don't own a small businesses without actually saying it. Equipment is not deductible all at once. It has to be depreciated over many years of taxes. That might have changed with trumps bill, but up to this point you don't just decrease your taxable income by your cost of equipment.[/quote]
