I know I'm late to comment on this but I was reading through this thread and saw that a number of PP's commented that Amanda Peet looked "old" and "not so great." She's 53! She's a pretty, slim, white 53 year old who hasn't had much (or any) work done. So many of our perspectives are distorted by the number of actors/celebrities who have had plastic surgery or a lot of procedures. I think she looks natural and lovely-it's really refreshing to see.
I think she looks fantastic. She is aging beautifully. I loved her look poolside—the navy outfit—showing (barely) some midriff—sweater around her neck. They make her look “appropriately tired/aged/stressed” when the scene calls for it. I hate when most series (Kidman in mms)—the actress looks as well coifed even when it’s a distraughtful, stressed time
And she’s an Ivy grad herself. Native Manhattan-Nyer. She comes from $. She has the look down. Not a trophy wife. This is how old $ ages, gracefully, naturally- but fit and pulled together, understated.
Yes this! Late to the thread also and was so disappointed that the first two pages seemed to be entirely devoted to how a 50 yo woman dared to look 50! What on earth. But also I grew up in the area being lampooned here and I think her look is pretty spot on - when you’re from a place it’s not necessary to cosplay your impression of that place once you’ve *ARRIVED!!!* You’re just…from there, and that’s your life. Agree that coupling with the NBA player for years seems off though; that person would be more glitzy-looking
