https://www.dni.gov/files/ODNI/documents/assessments/ATA-2025-Unclassified-Report.pdf The US annual intelligence threat assessment report from just very recently said that Iran had no intentions of getting nuclear weapons. So which do you believe? Our intelligence agencies or a country which has been lobbying to attack Iran for more than 40 years all while claiming they are very close to nuclear weapons.
I think that Israel has their own intelligence, generally considered to be the best in the world by friend and foe. Why would they listen to ours ? Plus Iran is out there publicly saying “Death to America, the Great Satan”, forever. Why should they have nuclear weapons ? I hope Israel cleans house.
We hope so too. Can Israel take this on by themselves? TIA
They could, but it would be faster and more effective with assistance. The likely role of the U.S. will be supplemental air defense; the IDF can deliver ordnance by itself without much trouble, no B-52s are really needed. ISrael of course has nuclear weapons, too, but also has the restraint to not use them except in extremis, something which seems hardly likely the Iranians would do it they had such a capability.
