This started after Iraq war and Bush claiming Iran next on the “axis of evil” world tour. Iran believes nuclear weapons would deter foreign military ground invasion of their country. So far they’ve been right. Notice Israel wants to strike their nuclear facilities first before going in.

Except we never found the nuclear weapons in Iraq and Iran is a lot more certain.

I mean, I agree with you to an extent. Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza have been failures. Would Iran be any different? But given that they have nuclear weapons and long range ballistic missles, should we just allow that? The us is having Israel do the fighting so they take the fall for a problem that very much affects us too.

It’s totally possible I’m missing something. My knee jerk reaction was the same, wtf is Israel doing?! But when I sat down to think and read about it, I see it as - there is no nuclear deal with Iran, an unstable regime is rapidly getting closer to having extremely dangerous weapons. Without just ignoring the problem, what are we supposed to do? [/quote]
