4 TJ kids were admitted to MIT in RD. 2 are attending. The other 2 have committed to Harvard. I believe Harvard accepted 7 kids from TJ this year and ALL of them picked Harvard. Some of the Harvard admits/commits were rejected from MIT and Stanford. And the MIT commits didn’t get accepted to Stanford/Harvard. 4 got into Stanford. Only 1 attending. The others chose Harvard and Princeton. Stanford seems to be the “hardest” to get into from TJ.
Well Harvard MIT and Stanford are probably all equivalent and yet Harvard gets 100% yield, MIT gets 50% yield (from aSTEM school!) and Stanford gets a 25% yield. If it any wonder that Stanford is a hard admit?
This changes year to year. The set is so small that you can't derive any meaningful insights. In my kid's year, every Stanford RD admit was also accepted at Harvard. No one went to Harvard. That said, from their data, Harvard's primary pipeline is East Coast and Stanford is the opposite.
