I have been at IRS for 35 years and have never heard of this.  Everyone used to dress up more in the early years.  Now it is business casual with some people pushing the envelope in jeans.  We are non public facing and anything else would be ridiculous.  Can you imagine managers behind closed doors...is Cindy's top ok?  I am not sure if it is professional.  Men are easy.  Any button up shirt and a tie I can be fine with..but that top has a bow??  Are bows professional??  We need more specific guidance.[/quote]

I have two kids working in n big tech.  Tshirts and jeans are the norm.  Shorts in the summer.  A collared shirt is dressing up.  [/quote]

My tech kid won a STEM contest at 14 and visited Congress to accept the award.

When my kid saw all these people in suits my kid wondered if there was a wedding or funeral that day.

When I commented those people were at work, my kid laughed and commented on how nobody wearing a suit actually does any work.  I actually pretty much agree even though I had to wear a suit every day back in the 1990s.[/quote]
