They are the ones that fought to get ELC in all schools, and usually are on in the loop on where things like this stand.  Ask you PTA Delegate or President.[/quote]

I know they used to be active on this in the past but I have heard zero from them on it this year, no one's even brought it up in the gifted committee Facebook group I don't think.  Doesn't sound like anyone there cares anymore...[/quote]

I specifically remember them putting out a call for elementary school parents last year on this issue, and as far as I could tell from the post, no one volunteered.

Like everything else, the gifted Ed committee is made up of volunteers. If this issue is important to you personally, you can be one of those volunteers. In fact, I would strongly recommend that early elementary parents in particular get up to speed and active in the hopes of changing the situation in time for their kids.[/quote]

Where was this call? I can’t go to our school’s PTA meetings because they are always on the same night of the week that I have a conflict. I am exactly the type of parent who would be all over this and I do not remember seeing this at all. I would be happy to devote time and energy if it actually makes a difference. We have people who are on the like SN committee for example but they just seem to listen and report back. [/quote]

To my local PTA, yes, but they don’t do anything meaningful related to actual school activities, just fun community things. I am very interested in what “call” was put out to parents since I clearly missed it.[/quote]
