They all are in Boston/New England or Michigan or California. The two families we know that went SEC are very big drinker/golfers.
Oh on your street. So you guys are the intellectual kings. Smart kids are going where they will be happy and also where they may receive a free education on merit money down south. No one cares about Ivy anymore. It is a down brand.
No one cares about Ivy? Bwaaaaaahhhhhhh have you actually spent time on this board? lol
Yeah, the middle aged Asian dads in this site care A LOT! Especially remedial math at Harvard guy!
Can’t assume they’re Asian. Asian parent here and some of us have kids who aren’t tracked for Multivariable calculus in high school.
Some Asian parents have kids at SEC schools.
Vanderbilt is very Asian now.
All top 20s are very Asian, except maybe Notre Dame.
Is that a reason kids are moving to SEC schools?
No. Most students applying to the top 20 or so schools are looking for the best school for them. And these schools often have a lot of students with an east asia or south asia background. No one is saying no to Vanderbilt or similar because there are too many asian students. In fact, I'd say schools that have above average numbers are more desirable because they are more focused on talent rather than the particulars of their demographics.[/quote] Top 20 schools are not more focused on talent. It is comical that you think top 20 schools are not focused on demographics. Why do you think there is a huge push for FGLI or rural students at top 20s? Top 20s are also more focused on legacies, impactful ECs and uniquely packaged kids with a “compelling narrative.” Tons of talented kids at southern schools. Get over yourself.
