I’m in a position where I could legally move to another country and work.

The problem is that, once we have serious problems, the doors will bang shut. There are just too many Americans, Putin has invested too much money in demonizing us, and we do stupid things that make ourselves more unpopular.

So, I could escape and have the necessities of life, but I’d never be accepted or comfortable.

Few people without family ties will be able to escape, and most who manage to escape will live sad, stunted lives.

Because of what the end of America would do to democracies all around the world, even if Americans manage to get by in countries with free elections, there won’t be any such thing as our children truly integrating in those societies. Even if our children become citizens in these other countries, they’ll still be despised American outsiders. [/quote]
