You don't have any say in the local governance of the people of Tennessee, or Maine, or Texas, or California, but you are happy to let their elected officials govern you? Dc is paralyzed on acting strongly on crime for a variety of reasons. It’s balancing all these considerations. Locking up too many fathers, locking up teens…it’s balancing trying to implement progressive justice policies that received focus since George Floyd. It just can’t do it because half the city is have not and have the city is haves. The haves are getting robbed and attacked, but because the city is so liberal voting, these haves feel like they have to tolerate a certain amount of crime out of “just living in the city” and because the DC justice lab screams at anyone at a council meeting who wants to arrest anyone. We are just paralyzed by inaction and progressive nonsense.[/quote]
