Speaking of peanuts. Peanut butter and fluff sandwiches served on white bread. I mean who comes up with American food like this as if it is a good idea? And worse yet, serves it to children for lunch? Here’s a heaping pile of diabetes kiddies. Delicious American food! Right?
Has anyone eaten that since 1974?
Yes, that’s why American kids are now fatter than ever.
I’m in my 40’s and I have literally never encountered this sandwich. The younger generations would almost certainly never have even heard of it.
I have definitely had it since 1974. I think I first had one in maybe the late 70s and have had them as recently as within the last few years. I’m generally a pretty snobby, fresh food eater but man do I love a fluffernutter. There’s definitely a regional twist to it -/ I think it’s a Massachusetts thing. I’m from MY but my cousins are from MA so maybe that’s where my brother got it from. I can still remember him showing it to me and I was like “my God, what a concept” at and 7 or 8. For me, cool whip is what I don’t inderstand. It takes two seconds to make whipped cream. Or just use rediwhip which is still better than cool whip. Cool whip tastes like sadness to me.
