First, it was her mother she tried to prove wrong by dropping out of college to become a star. It also was her family and neighborhood in general that doubted her and told her no. Then, the movie business , record business. In Living Color didn’t want her at first because they thought she was too fat compared to the other dancers . Rosie Perez stood up for her. I can imagine she has low self esteem from being told she’s not good enough by virtually everyone I would imagine narcissism will come into play for anyone who has to build up their own confidence and become their own best advocate [/quote]
