lol @ the pearl clutching about Grey Goose on the rocks. Do you yentas even realize what a martini is? Especially a dry martini. Essentially just two shots of chilled vodka served up in a pretty glass. It’s okay for girlies to guzzle those but a man ordering a double Grey Goose on the rocks is uncouth? lol
A martini is made with gin, Cletus.
You can have either a vodka or gin martini, Cletus. Vodka martini is a very very famous drink. Cursory google search if not for some bizarre reason already aware of this fact
And note that it's called a "vodka Martini." You ever hear anyone at a decent bar order a "gin martini?"
your point was to rebut someone who said there was no difference between a vodka martini and a vodka on the rocks. you said 'a martini is made with gin, cletus' we all said 'a martini is made with vodka or gin' and now your argument is how to order a martini as if that was the original point. the original point was you dont understand what a martini is but are trolling others as if it were they who is dumb when it is in fact yourself.
Your first line doesn't apply to me. I did write the second line, because it's true. If you ask for a martini, it is assumed it is made with gin. It is also assumed, that when you write sentences, that you use capital letters to start them and periods to end them. Unless you're dumb and don't know better.
You need to get out more. If you order a "martini" the bartender or waitress is going to immediately ask you vodka or gin, and if you have preference on brand. 9 in 10 martinis solid are vodka-based.
