I will not vote for an APE plant. So no Chen for me. And police-free. I don’t even like the SSOs and would love to kick them out. There are problems at Wakefield, but not because of those Brown and Black “gangs” like Larry and fellow racists go to. Please. So that leaves Kathleen and Zuraya. Who are the two who will win anyway.
Love when anonymous posters type like they know whats going on at a school more than someone who teaches there. Larry worked as a LULAC liason to the NAACP and got an Honored Citizen Award for it but you really nailed it calling him a racist. Ha! Maybe you're thinking about this that Larry said at 19:35 at the ArlDems / Young Dems forum? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v-aR5tOiyw) Where he talked about being a teacher at Wakefield when a trespasser with a gun came into the school pursuing a student? Where he never said he was in favor of SROs but we should be going school by school seeing what they need to be safe? Oh, and here's the police article about that incident (https://www.arlingtonva.us/About-Arlington/Newsroom/Articles/2023/Police-Announce-Arrest-in-Wakefield-High-School-Trespassing). But maybe they're being racist too. I'm sure every 18 y/o who's chasing students into a school with a gun with the serial number scrapped off is just lost.
1: You're an anonymous poster too. Hi Kettle! 2: I'm a Wakefield parent. There are a lot of problems at Wakefield, but those problems exist at other schools too. You don't think there's drugs and fighting at Yorktown? Hoo boy, the stories that are shared there would shock you too. It's just that Black and Brown students scare certain people and it's a good shocking talking point. SROs were taken out of schools for a reason, and putting them back in won't solve a single thing that you want addressed except maybe putting more of those minority kids into the criminal system. Also, Larry said he was in favor of SROs in the NAACP forum. If you want to go further, the NAACP, as an institution, is against SROs in schools and has whole working papers on the topic, so not the greatest place to go on record to say the opposite. 3. The kid with the gun was arrested. Without an SRO. And speculation as to whether they would have been arrested sooner with a police presence at school is just that. 4.: Larry's experience is from a decade ago. Things have changed. Demographics for one. Priorities another. Even a few superintendents have come and gone. I'm not interested in people solving problems when they weren't solving problems alongside the people who are actually doing the work in the now. 5.: I don't want to vote for Zuraya either for the same reasons. She hasn't put in the work either. Nor has Chen. But I don't trust Chen at all. He's just telling us what he wants us to hear. Zuraya's not telling us anything at all, but maybe someone from her campaign is reading these threads and can tell her to stand for something? Anything? Since she's the establishment candidate, she's going to win, but I'd feel more comfortable voting for her if she gives a more straight answers. At least CDT stood for something, even if it was for the system. 6.: The money thing is just wow. Four whole people have contributed to Chen. That's a bad sign. He just doesn't have the support of the wider community. But not as bad as Larry with no contributions at all. Self funded campaigns are bad too. You are paying for access. Bad forum. I personally don't care about the Hispanic so-called "lobbyists" supporting Zuraya. She at least has a base.
Larry has been a longterm sub (can't remember if it was this year or last year)
The answer is both! Last year he was at W-L, this year he was at Wakefield.
