The reason for firing patients in plain and simple- don’t act like a jackass. People using rude language towards me, my staff. Don’t act like a jerk. The last patient swatted my assistants hand away when she was trying to place something during a dental procedure. Guess what? If my assistant punctures her skin with a sharp object that she’s holding while you do that, I get to deal with a workers comp claim and take both of you to the ER for dental work. I have no time or tolerance for that. 
Repeatedly cancelling appointments- with the amount I have to pay my hygienist, if you miss even one appointment, I am losing money on your appointment. OF COURSE emergencies happen and we accommodate that. But people who literally sit there and tell me their job is more important than their dental appointment- yeah, you can find somewhere else to go. 
I do understand that dental procedures are not everyone’s favorite, but people refusing to recognize this and either seek sedation dentistry or TELL the dentist beforehand, does not make the situation better for anyone.
