This is interesting. According to a study in the UK that looked at which heights listed on dating apps got the most "swipe rights," the "most swiped" height for women was 5'5". The average height for women in the UK is 5'3", so this doesn't really back up OP's theory. https://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/dating/most-attractive-height-for-man-woman-a3846246.html One question this raises for me is how much height of a potential mate impact instinctual attraction (you see someone and think "yes I want this person") versus attraction ideals (the list people have in their heads of generally what they are looking for physically in a mate). Speaking as a woman, I like the idea of a tall guy, like over 6'. But when I was dating, I didn't like how I felt with men that tall. I didn't actually enjoy like having to crane my neck back to look at them when we were close together, and I didn't like feeling so much smaller than the person I was with. I wound up marrying a guy who is 5'10", and while obviously his height was not the primary driver, I don't think I'd actually want to be with someone longterm who was any taller. What this means for men, I don't actually know. Maybe they like the idea of really short women but then, like me, they discover the reality of a big height difference is kind of annoying. Or maybe the opposite is true, maybe they go into dating thinking they want a model type -- tall, thin, long lines. But then they discover they prefer how they feel around shorter women more.
