Please share with us your plan to have Stanford reduce yield.

There’s nothing magical about Pitt, it’s a very fine school.

But it has comparative advantages other schools can’t duplicate:

-[b] State flagship is very expensive even in-state for a public school.

- Located in a safe big city with many pro sports and cultural attractions.

- Lots of merit aid for out of state students.

- Next door to a premier engineering and arts school, there are a ton of college kids around.

- Within a 5 hour drive of a much wealthier metro area (that’s us).

Its greatest advantage for DCUM parents is its rolling admissions plan.  DS applied in early September of senior year and got back an immediate acceptance.  He was the first in his class to have an acceptance so it eased the senior year stress significantly.  Then he focused on an SCEA application (deferred) and publics.  Go in to all the publics so never ventured further.[/quote]
