I posted above that I wasn't feeling this season at all, but episode 3 changed my mind. AMAZING. I'm sorry to say, I also prefer the eps without Reese W.
I also really liked this episode. I am not a big fan of Bradley as a character and I feel like her storylines tend to feel the most soapy to me (especially all the stuff last season with her brother). I think the show works best when the personal dramatic issues are closely tied to the professional ones at the network and on the show. I thought the story with Nicole Beharie's character was great and LOVED the scene between her and Holland Taylor was amazingly acted -- loved Holland's perfectly tone deaf responses and all the little micro-expressions on Beharie's face as she reacted. I think that might have come off ham-fisted with lesser actors but they were brilliant. I also think Aniston has been good this season and I am kind of enjoying this phase of her character, where she feels more free and powerful than she did before. I think it's interesting to see how someone who has always been a very savvy and ambitious professional navigates the post-Covid, post-MeToo, post-BLM world. I think sometimes she surprises with understanding the temperature of things (first advising Cybil not to do the interview, which was smart, and then advising Chris to conduct, which was even smarter), but she also has plenty of moments of rich-white-lady obliviousness too. She's a bit of a wild card but in a believable way. Still not seeing enough from Stella. Billy Crudup is always good in this role, it feels custom made for him. More Janko please.
