I am strangely following this drama. I don’t know the Jonas brothers at all. Watched GoT though. I don’t understand couples like this. Why don’t they do fun stuff together and not get divorced? He sounds like a downer who can’t have fun. She sounds like a crazed party girl. But jeeez just find the happy medium for both. Ya know like a marriage?!
Have you seen their TikTok accounts? Probably not because you're probably more normal than I am, but I have seen them, and let me tell you they seemed like a really, really fun couple. Of course that was curated but they did a lot of fun stuff together.
I’m PP. In retrospect my post above wasn’t fair to her because he is the one saying that she’s a partier. Even if she is going out, she’s 27!! Who wouldn’t want to go out at 27?! I don’t have TikTok. But he sounds like a drag. If he is fun then he is doing a smear campaign on her.
DP. Obviously I don't know them (I haven't even seen their TikToks, lol). But based just on what I do know, this really seems like a situation where a guy married a gorgeous, talented, successful, young, fun woman, and then tried to put her in a nice confined box so only he could enjoy her. The timing of their marital problems, rumors he wanted more kids even though she clearly doesn't (and is soooo young -- there is no reason for them to have another kid right now when she could definitely have a kid in 6 or 7 years if they decided they wanted more), and then the extremely biased press leaks about her being a partier and painting him as a dutiful father and primary parent when she was home with the kids for actual years before filming this show in the UK. The whole think makes me feel icky. He seems very controlling and scared of Sophie having freedom or independence.
This is how I feel about Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, except it seems to be working (so far, anyway).
Oh I don't get this vibe from Blake and Ryan at all. It feels like she kind of runs that relationship more than he does, and I think a lot of their choices (including all their kids and where they choose to live) were driven by her vision for their family. He works more than she does, but she does some very high profile stuff and he is always suuuuuper supportive in a very visible way on it, like when she co-chaired the Met Ball. She also developed her own product via his beverage company and she's been very forward about promoting it and he seems supportive. I don't get that "please just stay home and be quiet and pop out more babies for me" vibe from him the way I very much do from Joe Jonas.
Reynolds and Lively have the similar star status. Jonas is some boy band guy that only certain people know. Turner is a far better known star than he is. I don’t get the sense Lively or Reynolds married down. You do with Turner, she married down.
Agree, she can do better than a short, average-looking brother of a once-popular family boy band. It's like marrying one of the Osmond brothers other than Donny.
