Another idea: There used to be something called Junior Great Books and Great Books by the Great Book Foundation. It’s basically like a book club but the selections are shorter. It comes with questions already assigned. It may be possible to set this up as an after-school activity at school. You can find groups on the webpage and it shows a few MCPL libraries but I don’t know how active they are and whether they do the adult version or the youth version.
