If you invite a 7 year old to a birthday party you are implicitly inviting at least one of their parents to accompany them. Many parents likely will just plan to stay without asking or even giving it a second thought because it is well within the range of normal to do so at a second grade birthday event. This particular woman was going above and beyond to be courteous in reaching out to confirm it was okay for her to stay with her child when most parents would just take it as a given. She is not asking for you to entertain her or be her friend- honestly judging from your posts most people probably want nothing to do with you and just feel bad for your kid for having such a wretched mother.
