Literally stayed in a hotel earlier this week and even though to myself when we were checking in "don't forget to leave cash for the cleaner!" And then forgot. I remembered on the way home.

I know hotels would never allow this, but I wish cleaners could leave a card with their Venmo or something in the room. I have seen hotels where they leave a gratuity envelope to be dropped off at the front desk, and this helps me remember. But a Venmo handle with a note would be even better because then I don't even have to remember to leave the envelope at check out (sometimes I don't even formally check out), nor do I need to have cash in the right denominations. Plus with a Venmo you could write a note of thanks which I know might be far less valuable to the person but I also think makes the interaction warmer somehow.

Anyway, I always tip on take-out.[/quote]
