jesus christ, it is NOT ok to have kids by several different men IF the men are not going to help emotionally and financially as parents and IF you are not independently wealthy. We are all in this boat together, and our tax dollars and our future are tied in with everyone else.
I'm a pp who said number of fathers irrelevant cuz it was possible mom had turned her life around. Now I know she didn't so I will say its a sign of being a bad mother but I think that holds true regardless of class background. Really, pp? You want to make this about tax dollars? That's irrelevant to me but if you want to go there I don't believe we shd be giving friggin' child deductions to rich people who have kids with multiple fathers either.
i think a lot of the vitriol here is exactly about tax dollars. a 26 year old who has five kids, so one every other year since she was 16, let's say, and who is not showing the level of parental involvement that is reasonable for adults (and by that i do not mean the helicopter parenting that goes on here) is likely not a contributing member of her (or any) community. i'd be willing to bet my 2011 tax payment that she does not pay taxes (like more than 40% of the rest of the population), but rather is living off the "contributions" of the fine people of Louisiana. and by the way, any deductions "rich people who have kids with multiple fathers" may be eligible don't actually matter to the amount they pay in taxes. and yes, i judge anyone who has more kids than they can care for or afford with multiple partners to whom they have never been married OR had a stable relationship, regardless of wealth, race, gender, or anything else.
