It was Gatlinburg. We were walking around on the main street (not sure of name but I think it's the main drag), it's full of kitschy shops/places to eat, street was crowded.  This woman (maybe in her 30s?) looked at me in the eye and told me to go back to my country.  And then she kept walking. Anymore details you need PP? [/quote]

Actually, that part of Tennessee has a fairly large number of immigrants from Mexico. Many of them work in the factories. There are also quite a few biracial children enrolled in the schools.[/quote]
And do they feel welcomed there?  I assume they moved there because of the jobs so even if they get harrassed they are going to stick it out because they need the job. This is what my father went through in a different state in the 70s and 80s. [/quote]
