Wow, you really remind me of my GF. I was a struggling photographer, and she had married an old billionaire for the money. She had a good heart, though, and he loved her so it wasn't pure evil. When he died, he left it all to my GF, but OF COURSE his first family contested the will. It took forever to sort out -- lawyers, lawyers and more lawyers. In the meantime we had a baby daughter, and my GF died of an overdose. Men came out of the woodwork claiming to be the father, but I knew they only wanted access to that money.

I finally prevailed, got custody of my DD and zero money. So this is really a rags to whiff of riches to rags story. Sniff.
