In! RRMS. I was afraid having a couple of Bs, being in Algebra I and not take all honors in core classes would disqualify my kid. So thankful Admissions is looking past the resume fluff and over acceleration and more “normal” kids who aren’t all STEM all the time a getting in.
Good luck in TJ then. If B's in MS translates to Cs at TJ. My all As ended getting Bs.
They’re changing the grading for this new crop of kids.
Completely false.
True. Lots of freshmen failed math this year. Admin is giving them credit recovery.
False. Absolutely no truth to this.
I heard significant number of freshmen left/forced out due to low unweighted gpa during September - May of 2021. TJ requires students to maintain minimum of 3.0 uw gpa to stay at TJ and typically freshmen students with 3.3 or lower uw gpa after first semester are given special academic support/counseling and some choose to go back to base schools.
Students who failed the freshman stats class are being “stickied” into the TJ 8th period, and if they attend, they get their grade changed to a C. My kid tells me that it’s been going on since last month.
