They encircled this guy's location, evacuated apartments in the building, kept tightening the snare until they were at his door, and then he killed himself. They also kept a bunch of scared kids safe in a secure location and then reunited those kids with their equally scared parents. I saw videos of police officers riding with kids and hold ing their hands. As far as these things go, this seems to have been a good operation.
