I was just talking about this with my husband yesterday!

On Kidman, I think Scientology straight up broke up that marriage. They hoped to fully convert her and when it didn't succeed they convinced Cruise to throw in the towel. I think she was blindsided and then had the full power of Scientology's attorneys unleashed on her to orchestrate estranging her from the kids.

The Holmes story is the one where I'd really, really like to hear the details. It's obvious that at some point she came to the realization that she wanted out. I want to know how/why. It's been very widely reported how her father basically extracted her from the entourage that Cruise/Scientology constructed for her. But the real secrets, that I don't think we are ever getting, is what did Katie Holmes legal team have on Cruise/their home life/Scientology for her to negotiate the settlement she did, retaining primary custody of Suri and reducing Cruise to a Disney dad. That is information that Cruise never wants made public.[/quote]
