The left struggles with marketing because the right has the massive advantage of just being able to make everything up wholesale and telling the largely uninformed masses that some imaginary boogeyman is coming to get them unless they vote Republican is exponentially easier than trying to make those masses understand the often complex truth. See Critical Race Theory for the perfect example of this: GOP: "Schools are trying to teach your kids to hate themselves for being white, and they're trying to take away parents' ability to have input on curriculum." Masses: "OMG that's terrifying!" Dems: "Well actually, CRT is an advanced theory that is not being taught directly in primary education, though there are certain concepts stemming from CRT that may lead to changes in curriculum to more accurately reflect the historical experiences of POC. And while school boards have in fact been making changes to reduce the impact of parents who have literally no idea what they are talking about trying to change curriculum to reflect whatever they saw on FOX news last night, they are not discounting the input of parents wholesale." Masses: "Huh? Were you still talking? I tuned out after 'well, actually.'"
In other words, CRT is indeed being taught in a sneaky manner.
No. Similarly, number theory isn't sneakily being taught at schools because kids learn about division, just in case you were worried.
From PP’s description of what a democrat will say, i.e. “certain concepts stemming from CRT leading to changes in curriculum”, that’s a sneaky way of teaching CRT. Reducing the impact of what PP seems to call ‘stupid parents who have no clue’ , tells parents that they will pay for something they have no say in. This is why money must follow the child.
Translation: Damn fixed costs of public schools, I must be allowed to put my child in an evangelical private school on the public dime! Seriously though, isn’t that the “socialism” you hate? No voucher will ever allow your child to attend the same private schools as the truly wealthy. The voucher could be for $100,000/year and they still would make sure it didn’t happen.
There aren’t just evangelical schools. I pay tax dollars towards the public schools. If I don’t like what’s being taught there, I should be able to use that money to educate my child as I see fit. Telling me to ‘butt out’ of my child’s education when I’m paying for it? No Bueno. Not happening. When liberal democrats enroll their kids exclusively in public schools, then they can start preaching. Until then? Nope. Money should follow the child. But nice try with the ‘evangelical’ school. I’m a Jew
Dp- No one is stopping you from paying for private school. I pay property taxes and I pay for private school. You can too.
I did. But I still was forced to pay for their public school education they weren’t attending.
NP here. I didn't know that taxes were an a la carte menu. I opposed both the Afghanistan and the Iraq wars. Do I get my taxes back?
Defense spending is in the Constitution. Education is not
A lot of things aren’t in the constitution. Should women vote, then?
Wasn’t there an amendment?
