Woodward will help with DCC overcrowding indirectly by dealing with overcrowding in MCPS in general. Some people sem to have this fantasy that their boundaries will remain in tact while those poor DCC kids will be bused across the county to Woodward. This will never happen. Woodward's boundaries will be carved out of those from the adjacent schools and those will also be adjusted. This cascade of adjustments can be used to help with overcrowding as it propagates through the boundaries. The county could save a ton of money on transportation by making more sensible boundaries; for example, is it Wootten that has the long narrow boundary where the school is at the far end and a separate island off to the north? People who literally live across the street from Wootten, Einstein or Blair don't attend those schools. In the case of Blair, I get it since there are no high-schools in the SE part of the county, but there others border on ridiculous. [/quote]
I know this is going to burst the whole fantasy you have going on, but the closest HS to Woodward are WJ obviously, and wait for it…..Einstein, then Wheaton and BCC are each the same distance to Woodward.[/quote]
