OP here. So the principal did call me and was very understanding about my concerns. She assured me that the teaching team meets every week to plan their agenda and every class is on track. She also talked about the lack of quality subs and how they are severely understaffed now. She wanted to facilitate a meeting between me and the teacher but I said that won’t be necessary. Today the teacher did reach out to me herself to schedule a conference if I have any more concerns. I guess the principal spoke to her. All in all, I’m glad I spoke to the principal and looking forward to talking to the teacher as well. I’m also glad my concerns were heard and nobody deflected or minimized my concerns as so many did here.
So nothing has changed but they made you feel better? Mmkay.
Yup. It took three days for the principal to get back to you because principal and teacher had to form a communication strategy for the crazy parent who complains about things that are likely largely out of the teachers control. Because this is totally not the first time said crazy parent has complained about such things. All while principal and teacher could have been addressing concerns that they could control if they had time to do so (instead of dealing with this crap). I'm glad you got flamed on here, OP.
+1 My favorite part of the crazy parent’s last post is how she smugly informs us that “the teacher did reach out to me herself to schedule a conference if I have any more concerns.” OP is the type of person who will take up the teacher on the conference offer so that OP can bleat about her “concerns” involving the teacher’s childcare issues and the teacher’s legal right to miss the days she has missed. Because it isn’t as if the teacher has planning or grading to do during that pointless conference time. At last the principal and teacher have realized that the important thing here is making OP feel that her feelings and thoughts are the priority. You’re so special, OP. You’re so wise. I’m sure the tired new-mom teacher will love having to schedule a conference with you so she can hear more of your thoughts on the teacher’s situation. Yeah, the principal and teacher see you as the crazy, entitled idiot parent, 100% guaranteed.
