DP: I think many of the people posting here are doing it primarily to stoke divisions.  People who are neither African American nor Asian Americans going on about how “baffled” they are by the stereotypes that they’re actively and enthusiastically spreading.  It’s increasingly common, and seems to be taking over topics beyond those that are more obviously political.
