I think we all know the answer: incompetence [/quote] As someone who has been teaching in an mcps classroom for over 20 years, I think the problem is that Central Office is made up of people who have not been in the classroom, or even worked in a school building, in a long time. People who seek these jobs did so to get out of the classroom (they will never admit it, but it’s generally true) and are just so out of touch. Every single teacher was fully expecting things to play out like this. A few “red” schools one day, an astronomical number the next, county considering changing the metric…none of it is a surprise.
