The problem is the growing sense that self-flagellation is justified because of past wrongs. It’s this sort of “we deserve this because of the sins of past legacies and we need to try novel, holistic approaches to crime fighting that result in less incarceration because it breaks up families and has disparate impacts.”

This translates into violence interruptors, restorative justice programs, looser laws with less jail time, easier penalties or slap on the wrist punishment for violent younger offenders rather than traditional policing.

So yes, less families get broken up. However, as is evidenced by statistics crime goes up.

Then you have these, I hate to say it, “woke” folks who shout down any criticism of these types of policies. It’s all pretty forseeable. A normal person would lol at the situation and predict the end result, but people have to learn the hard way I guess. That goes for Charles Allen type voters on Capitol Hill who vote him in even though it’s obvious his wasting of $9.6m on useless violence interruptors (studies show they are useless) will be used as a feel good optics.[/quote]
