Probably NCSL. This is not uncommon for clubs in the area.

DS just played against the U9 Academy I boys team a couple of weeks ago.   We are in the NCSL[/quote]

Yes, that was why I specified which specific team we played.   I have no idea if they were 2013s or 2014s.  [/quote]

This fall, BSC had a team of 2014 boys (normally U8) play as a U9 team (Orange I think). I believe they played in NCSL. [/quote]
