People have actually heard of Stanford, many of their millennial alums are filthy rich tech titans, and people want to live in the Bay Area. The same can not be said for Northwestern and Chicago, their young alums, and greater Chicago (unless you're a Midwest yokel).[/quote]

Exactly.  A Midwestern yokel?  Virginia is in the south.  I wouldn’t be calling anyone a yokel, many are located just outside your backyard. [/quote]
