We have a group of parents who drink at every opportunity and publicly and they also encourage their children to break the rules elsewhere in the neighborhood (breaking into the pool at night, roller blading on the basketball court). They are all minimally successful in life and in their relationships. I do wonder about having a problem following rules is the root of the issue for both. I'm surprised at how clearly it's delineated among this group. The more successful people don't drink in public but save it for backyard, private property get togethers and their kids don't break the rules. I never really noticed the connection until you mentioned it.[/quote]
