I am an adult woman who was attacked by a friend's male pit bull 5 minutes after being in her house. One minute his tail was wagging, and within 2 seconds he lunged at my face and caused several wounds (including one in the corner of my eye) that needs many stitches. I will require plastic surgery in August to revise a few of the scars. It was a very traumatizing experience for me. I can only imagine what it would be like for a small child or another dog. And yes, these are the people who dress their dog up in pajamas at Christmastime and post pictures of him and gush about how sweet he is. Needless to say, our friendship was forever changed by this and the county has pursued dangerous dog charges against them due to the nature of my injuries and the hospital's recommendation to animal control. No one should own these dogs.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. I posted on another thread a few months ago about a good friend who was dog sitting her dad’s “sweet little pitt” and her mothers Chihuahua when they went on vacation. While she was dog sitting her dad’s pit bull it attacked and killed her mom‘s Chihuahua. She has no idea what set the pitbull off, but not only did it severely injure the Chihuahua, which had to be put to sleep but it also bit my friend in her face because without thinking she tried to separate the dogs She had to get plastic surgery or you can still see the scars where she was bitten. Needless to say they had to put that pitbull down. But because of that one incident both of her parents lost both their dogs and their daughter got a nasty bite in her face. Another case where this dog has never shown any sign of aggression....before it did.
